What this army's done to me 3

Description

"Mama mama can't you see / What this army's done to me" exerpt from popular cadence.

Part 3 of 3. These bone scans are my actual medical records. These are my feet...which were fine in October 2005. Both of these scans were from January 2006.

I joined the army July 2005. My legs began hurting terribly in August, but under the Drill Sergeant's orders, I sucked it up and made it out. In September I started to train at the best medical training ground the army has to offer. But even with all their sophisticated technology and knowledgeable staff, no one took me seriously until October....and by then it was too late. They've been trying to fix me, or so they say. But last January I took another bone scan to compare how well I'm healing. The results are above. The top one was taken in October, the bottom in January. White = bad. White = broken.

Why do I consider this art? Because it is inspiring great pieces that I cannot yet submit. Because I suffered for it....immensely. I've been in pain every second of every day since August....except for the last 7 days of Exodus in December, and the three days following that. I graduated third in my class. But on Monday I will turn in the paperwork that will start my Fit-For-Duty investigation that will probably get me a medical discharge.

Edit: I didn't get my medical discharge until October 2007. I am still broken. I'm not saying this is a bad country or anything, but please know that the army lies. Recruiters lie. The news doesn't tell the whole truth from either perspective. That is why I consider this to fit the political category.

oh god owww :( I hope that you do pass the Fit-For-Duty investigation but in a way I hope you don't too because of this, shouldn't be pushing yourself to the breaking point :( and hopefully there isn't any lasting pain afterward when they do fix you up :( I looked over the others too and ugh :( I really hope you get better soon
